Learning objectives are measurable, observable statements of what a student will be able to do at the end of a lesson – what they will understand. A good understanding of your objective is crucial to lesson planning and teaching. Making your objectives known to students also supports learning – I often frame this as the ‘learning target’ with my students.
You can also use ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy’ to help you write these objectives. Visit this interactive site to help make sense of bloom’s and objectives.
